Linda Jean Ross

Linda Ross, age 81, our family matriarch, Mom, Mother-in-Law, Nana, counselor, best friend, protector, and leader in her community of Elephant Butte, NM, passed away on February 12th, 2025. Linda was a beloved member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 44, where she was a dedicated member along with her husband of 50+ years, Stephen Ross. She held many offices over the years. She and Stephen lived in Elephant Butte full time for the past 20 years after Linda retired from State Farm Insurance. She loved to travel with Stephen, spending weeks at a time on the road, looking for new adventures along the way and making friends wherever they went. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, Rummikub, Foot and Mouth, and was always up for learning new games.

Linda is survived by her sons, Lance Ross (wife Elaine, kids Shilah and Lance JR and his wife Daniella), Shane Ross (wife Jammie, daughters McKenzie, Kassidy and her husband Steven), who live in Albuquerque, as well as her sister Cynthia Langford and brother Greg Dollahon, who reside in Texas. She also has three great grandchildren: Matthew, Sophia, and Liam Ross. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen, whom she cherished and loved greatly. 

Services will be held later this spring at the American Legion Post 44 in Elephant Butte, NM.
