Linda Klaurens was born to Clay and Violet Whetstine in North Carolina on June 22, 1950. The family moved to New Mexico when she was a child. She met her soul mate Larry Klaurens at Jackson Middle School in Albuquerque, and they became high school sweethearts while attending Manzano High School. Life's journey took them on different paths. Both Linda and Larry married other individuals, creating their own families but their friendship always remained. Seventeen years later, Linda and Larry married and built a blended family together. Linda made her career working for the Department of Defense. She loved her career and made many lifelong friends in her nearly 30-year tenure.

Traveler

Linda loved traveling. She and Larry traveled for several years in their motorhome and their 5th Wheels and often made several journeys crisscrossing the United States, finding themselves camping and fishing along the way. She recently filled her lifetime dream and went to Israel this past February and took the same journey that her Lord and Savior took in Jerusalem.

She Loved

Camping, fishing, antiquing, reading her Bible, talking to friends about Jesus, spending time with family and friends and eating chocolate ice cream anytime of the day. She also loved ketchup so much that we thought about changing her middle name from Diann to Heinz. Linda was kind, loyal and a fun-loving lady. She was always willing to lend a helping hand if she saw a need. She will be genuinely missed.

Linda passed peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her mother, Violet; and sister, Bobbi Hayner. She is survived by her daddy, Clay; sister, Shirley Winckel; along with several children and grandchildren.
