Linda Howard was an amazing woman. She was born the youngest of four to Ida Ruth and Billy Richardson. She dared to get her dreams at a time when most gender defined lines hadn’t been crossed. She had a career of civil service that spanned over 30 years. First with Army Audit and then with Homeland Security. She broke many glass ceilings and had a work ethic of iron steel. She was a world traveler with a curiosity for new experiences, food, and languages. A lover of art and a big history buff, she could talk or debate your ears off about the Medicis, the War of the Roses or the founding fathers. Her dry wit and canny advice always came in handy. She taught never to back down when something wasn’t right and to do your part to make the world a better place. She was the world’s best mom and taught how to keep an open mind even when the world seems dark and unforgiving. And now the world is a little less bright without her. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, David Howard; and her daughter, Christine Howard. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Rio Rancho Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Road Runner Food Bank at www.rrfb.org/give-now/ and The Child Fund at www.childfund.org/ways-to-donate/
