We bid farewell to a loving husband of 54 years. He was a father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, brother-in law, cousin and a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Campbell and Phylis Tomlinson. He was raised in Manchester, Christina, Jamaica West India by his maternal grandparents Elizabeth and Moody Tomlinson until their death and was then he was raised by his uncle.
At an early age, he loved to repair things and so learned the trade of repairing various things with wheels to include automobiles, commercial vehicles, bicycles, etc. Eventually he relocated from Jamaica to New York where he continued to work as a mechanic. He became well known as mechanic who could fix any vehicle. Seizing on an opportunity to become an entrepreneur, he opened Tomlinson Auto Shop as the sole owner.
He was a man that had a heart created by God that was truly full of giving. He had a special relationship with his family. However, after sharing the family home with his cousins Jacinth and Katherine for 46 years, the relationship and bond were even stronger. There were no longer just cousins, they had become so more.
