Lilly O. (Ortiz) Lucero

Lilly O. Lucero became our angel in the sky on Thursday, December 29th, 2022, at the age of 101. She was born Friday, May 13, 1921, in Raton, New Mexico. She was married in 1943 and welcomed into the world her only child in 1946. She relocated to Albuquerque, NM in 1951, where she lived until 2008. In 2008 she moved to Maricopa, AZ, where she remained a resident until her passing.

She is survived by daughter, Roberta Werick; and two granddaughters, Stephanie Vickrey, and husband Jim Vickrey, and Jennifer Rocha and husband, Chacho Rocha. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Ronnie Vickrey and wife, Jannette, Jeffrey Chavez, Kayla Sherrod, and husband Nick, Alyssa Chavez, and Audrina Rocha; and five great-great grandchildren, Hudson Sherrod, Aliyah Chavez, Lilia Chavez, Gianna Vickrey, and Brooklyn Sherrod. Also, by brother-in-law, Roman Alderete, and two nieces, and one nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eleuterio, and Fidelia Ortiz; brother, Louis Ortiz; and sister, Dodie Alderete; and son-in-law, Ronnie, Werick; and grandson, Jeffrey Werick.

Lilly was an angel on earth to her family and a true blessing. Her spunk, sparkle, laugh, and smile will be missed beyond words. Lilly was not only the matriarch of her family she was their "Queen" and will leave an empty space in her family's heart that will never be filled.

Services will be held in Albuquerque, on Friday January 27, 2023, at FRENCH- Lomas, 10500 Lomas Blvd. Alb, NM at 9:00 a.m. with a Reception following at 10:00 a.m.

She will be reunited with her husband, in her final resting place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.
