Lillian Bernardini Lente passed away peacefully on September 6, 2015. She was born on September 17, 1923 in Grosetto, Italy and came to the United States in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe L. Lente of Isleta Pueblo; her parents Cesare Bernardini and Tersilia Mostardini; brothers Mauro and Piero; and sister Cessarina all of Grosetto, Italy. Lillian is survived by son Leonard and wife Nancy of Isleta Pueblo; daughter Joanne and friend Annabelle of Belen, NM; sister Edie and brother Egisto of Grosetto, Italy; grandson Kevin and wife Suzi of Albuquerque, NM; graddaughter Kimberly and her husband Rick of Elephant Butte, NM; great-grandchildren Alex, Courtney, Brannan and Daisy; and great-great grandson Kaden; special niece Molly Poafbybitty and many other nieces and nephews. Lillian was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church and Italian Club. She met her husband during WWII and married in Naples in 1945. They then moved to Isleta Pueblo. Joe and Lillian traveled to Italy many times to see her family. Lillian loved her beautiful flower garden, visiting with family and friends and making her famous spaghetti sauce. A special thank you to staff at Wellesley Care, especially Michelle, Tammie, Joe and Suana. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. A reception will follow at the family home.
