Lillian Ester Patterson (Pat) born in Woodworth, North Dakota on September 1, 1927. She was called 'Patsy or Pat' by husband and friends. Pat was the youngest with three sisters and a brother. She shared her birthday with her son, Patrick of September 1st and she stepped into heaven on her youngest son, Robert's birthday, October 21st at the age of 86. She celebrated the two great events of her life with the sons she truly loves. Harold 'Curly' Barr and Pat were married in February of 1953 in Tucumcari, New Mexico for 27 years, until Curly's death in 1979. Pat and Curly traveled the southwest together. They supported Father Liebra's missionary work, fostered a Navajo daughter who died from injuries in a Hogan fire. They baptized their daughter in Bluff, Utah at St. Christopher's Mission in 1955 and searched for artifacts at old pueblo ruins. They had acreage in Ponderosa, New Mexico where they rebuilt a diplapidated adobe cabin and spent many summers in the Jemez. Pat worked at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Albuquerque from 1955 to the early 1960's, and then helped her husband on their company business, Magnum Electronics, which was active until 1980. Pat championed her boys in Scouts, Young American football, and Little League baseball. She became an avid fan of Al Unser Sr. and Jr. and watched Indianapolis Speedway races with unmatched enthusiasm. She was a baseball fan, especially fond of the Little League Championships. Pat became 'Momma Goose' to her grandchildren because she raised geese and would show them at the State Fair. She was a gardener and remembered for growing pumpkins etched with the kids own names. Pat's first son was Jerry, whose untimely death at 39, caused her great sorrow. Her second child was daughter, Caroline, married to Brady Phelan and grandchildren, Levon and Sean Matthew. Her second son, Patrick and his wife, Lynn, and grandchildren, Ashley, Sara, and Kyle. Her youngest son, Robert Steven, who has lived, worked, and cared for her during the last years of her life. Her stepson, Eddie his wife, Stella and children, Niko, Spencer, and Travis. Although we miss her wit and quick tongue, we are celebrating her life. Pat is a Christian believer and has returned home. She no longer suffers with pain from her vascular disease which prevented her from enjoying her garden, evening walks, and other pleasures. It is our wish that you memorialize her life by extending a gracious hand and providing a meal or a service to someone in need during the coming holiday season. Do this and remember her in your thoughts and prayers. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 25, 2013, 3:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University.
