Lila Anne Eilers (called Anne by most), beloved mother and grandmother, was called by God to her eternal resting place on September 14, 2018. She entered this world on August 20, 1935 in Augusta, GA, born to Durham and Inez Parker. She is survived by her only child, daughter Kimberly Eilers Baird; son-in-law Michael Baird; grandsons Devon (20), Brendan (14) and Lachlan (5) Baird; sisters Bonnie Kirby and Dorothy Mickler; and brother Durham Parker. Her husband of 45 years, and four decade veteran of Los Alamos National Laboratory, Donald Eilers passed on February 28, 2011.
A long term resident of Los Alamos, and previous member of Bethlehem Lutheran church, she loved the beautiful southwest and all of its art and culture. One of her most enjoyable activities was volunteering at the Fuller Lodge Art Center. Additionally, she was a voracious reader and had a vast collection of books. Anne was a wonderful mother who devoted her entire life to insuring her only daughter had the best of everything even though she herself had a difficult childhood and came from very humble beginnings. She created a house of love and inspired her daughter to believe in her abilities and know that she could achieve anything that she put her mind to.
A brief celebration of life followed by interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 starting at 9:45 am.
