Bud was born in Winfield NY and was called home to God and reunited in heaven in time for his 64th wedding anniversary to his wife Rosemary (which was December 29).

Service Information:

In Fishers, Indiana
Mass will be celebrated Friday January 8, 2016 at the Hearth at Windermere located at 9745 Olympia Dr, Fishers IN 46037 with Father Dan Gartland of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Celebrant; Eulogy and appetizers following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hearth at Windermere.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico
Rosary will be recited Friday, January 15, 2016, 4:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 16, 2016, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. Ennichement will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hearth at Windermere.

Bud is survived by his children, Donald Atkinson, and wife Cindy of Albuquerque NM, and Diane DeLuca, and husband Jim of Fishers IN; brothers-in-law, John Raeker and James Dullaghan; cousin, Judy Beth Sheridan; four generations of nieces and nephews, and 3 step-grandchildren and their families.
Bud was a WWII, Korea, and Reserves army veteran from 1945 to 1951. After military service, he attended Rhodes Prep School in NY and was recruited by the Eastman Kodak Company. Buddy retired from the Eastman Kodak Company after 25 years of service. He spent the majority of his life in Albuquerque, NM since 1951. His career took him from New Mexico to New York, to California, and back to New Mexico.
Bud was an Advanced level amateur radio operator (aka Ham operator) and member of AARL transmitting under the call sign "K5DHZ". He was granted his first radio license in 1945 in Germany. He served in the New Mexico State Reserves providing radio services and was awarded the rank of Major.

Bud was a member of the several NM Catholic Churches during his life in Albuquerque, namely Annunciation, Queen of Heaven, and Risen Savior Catholic Church.
In 2013, Bud moved to the Hearth at Windermere in Fishers IN following a stroke. To all the staff at the Hearth of Windermere, "Thank You" for becoming part of our family. Your care, services and compassion will forever be appreciated. Bud was very fond of you all.
He became a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Geist in the Fishers IN area. To all the church volunteers that Bud was touched by, "Thank You" for your selfless services and love. God bless you all.
To the Veterans Affairs Aid and Attendance Program, "Thank You" all for your support and commitment to veterans, their spouses, and caregivers.
Dad, you will be remembered as a kind man. We love you. We hope to encompass in our own lives, the wisdom and logic you shared to guide us.
