It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of the patriarch of our family, Leroy (Sandy) Sandoval. Sandy will always be remembered as the happy fun-loving jokester. He was a retired veteran of the Albuquerque Police Department where he served for 24 years. He was well-liked by everyone he met and made friends wherever he went but he was particularly fond of his friends at the Barelas Coffee House, where he ate lunch almost daily.
Besides his friends, his greatest joy in life came from his family. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Josephine; his three children, Ruby Williamson, Alex and Les Sandoval; and his four grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor Williamson and Noah and Victoria Sandoval. He is also survived by his brothers, Alex Martinez, Lew and Donnie Martin; sisters, Laura Mae Randall and Fran Tiveron; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special brother-in-law, Ken Randall; and family friend, Lydia Paiz. Sandy loved helping children. So in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the children's Make-A-Wish Foundation, www.wish.org/donate.
Memorial Service will be on Saturday, May 7, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at Second Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith Blvd. NE.
