Leonard A Lovato

January 29, 1944 — February 23, 2014

70, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2014. He is survived by his sisters, Pina Lucero, Rose Duran and Petrita Calderon; brothers, Armelino Lovato and Victor Lovato; and a large, extended family. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Edubigen and Lucarita Lovato; sisters, Lucy Martinez, Odelia Jaramillo, Adela Marquez and Vita Navarro; and brother, Gilbert Lovato. He was born in San Luis, NM and raised in Bernalillo. Leonard served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked for and retired from the State of New Mexico in the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission. Leonard enjoyed working with senior citizens very much and volunteered at several organizations that assisted senior citizens and those in need of help with their personal income tax preparation. He was a member and very active at the Shrine of the Little Flower, St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 26 at 6:00 pm at the Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 3424 4th St. NW. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27 at 10:00 am at the Shrine of the Little Flower, St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
