Leonard (Len) Fincham, 90, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on February 28, 2017. Len was born on August 7, 1926 in Waterville, KS, the youngest of six children of Richard and Ethel Fincham.
Growing up in a small farming community, Len worked hard every day of his life. He graduated from Waterville High School where he met his future wife. On June 5, 1947, Len married Delores Travelute and together, with their two children, Evelyn and Lowell, farmed in the Waterville area for over 15 years.
In 1962, the family moved to Albuquerque, NM where Len pursued and succeeded in many careers beginning with a Texaco Service Station and later led to establishing a very successful local business, Fincham Trailers, which transformed to be Fincham Mobile Storage. His love for this company and all the people within it will never be forgotten. He was the true mascot.
After retirement, Len enjoyed restoring old farm tractors, tinkering in his workshop over many projects, and making homemade ice-cream for family celebrations, his favorite moments. Len was the greatest of all family men, and loved watching his family grow up and expand.
Len is survived by his wife of just shy of 70 years, Delores; his daughter, Evelyn Christy and husband, Stephen; and his son, Lowell Fincham. Len had four grandchildren, Shawnah Anderson, Jamey Christy, Alyssa Kolski, and Krystah Kurtz; and five great-grandchildren. He will always be in their hearts and will be greatly missed.
Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 6, 2017, 9:00 a.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE. A celebration of Len's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. at El Pinto Restaurant.
