Lena Murray

MURRAY, LENA Lena Murray, 96, beloved Mother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2014. She entered this world on February 9, 1918 in Alamogordo, NM, born to Horacio and Simona Chavez. At an early age, she moved to Albuquerque to live with her grandmother, Candelaria Chavez. As a young lady, she met and married Cleveland Murray. While raising her family, she began her avocation of teaching Sunday School to young children, which she did for over 75 years. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Cleveland, her son Dan, and grandson Adrian. She is survived by her daughter Diana Riley and son-in-law William; son, Charles Murray and wife Jenny; daughter-in-law, Naomi Murray; grandchildren, Marty Riley and wife, Angie, Michael Riley and wife, Elena, Kevin Riley and wife, Katie, Kelly Geha and husband, Jim, Amy Schwartz and husband, Jay, Amber Murray, Erin Lloyd and husband, Rob, Hesper Murray, and Jesse Murray; ten great-grandchildren; one great great - grandchild; a niece, nephew, and many cousins. The family wishes to thank Compassus Hospice for their care of Mama and also thank her great caregivers Conchita, Luz, Lori, Gloria and Susan. She was greatly loved. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at FRENCH- University.
