Lee H. Stacy of Rio Rancho, formerly of North Platte, NE passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014, with family by his side. He was born February 14th 1948 to Ruth and Wright "Bud" Stacy in Hastings, NE. After high school Lee joined the U.S. Marine Corp, serving four years. While serving, Lee met the love of his life Catherine Jaeger whom he married in 1972. Lee made his home in Hershey NE, having three children Alan (Anna) Stacy of North Platte, Joyce (Tim) Backer of Sydney, and James (Emily) of Rio Rancho. While raising his family Lee enjoyed camping, fishing and many outdoor trips. Anytime Lee could get out walking the North Forty he was! Lee was an avid woodworker making beautiful shelves and trunks. Lee also started with Union Pacific Rail Road in 1972 as a machinist where he worked until his retirement in 2008. Lee and Cathee moved to New Mexico after he retired where he enjoyed the warm sun spending time with his puppies and grandkids. Lee is survived by his loving and devoted wife, his three children Alan, Joyce, and James; sister Clara Jobman of North Platte; grandchildren Tory Stacy, Cassidy and Shawn Hammond, Destiny, Trinity, and Charity Backer and Ayden Olivia and Ethan Stacy. In death Lee was reunited with his mother, father and granddaughter, Lindsey Stacy. A Celebration of Lee's life will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at FRENCH-Rio Rancho. In lieu of cut flowers, the family would prefer either plants or cards.
