Author Raymond Carver once said:
"And did you get what you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself beloved on the earth."
Lee James Rowland was much beloved. He passed away May 04, 2016 as the result of an aneurysm, at the age of 39 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born March 18th, 1977, he was the son of Lee Rowland and Dianah Rowland, who loved him more than words can begin to express. Born in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Lee James graduated from Alamogordo High school in the class of 1995. Lee was an electrician - a trade he learned from his father. In 2002, his daughter, Jordan Kilee Rowland, was born. He was fiercely proud of Jordan and loved her dearly. He often called her by her nickname, "Snoopy." He would often tell her he loved her more than the fish in the sea, the stars in the sky and the leaves on the trees. Two of their favorite pastimes together were playing video games and throwing a football back and forth to each other.
Lee James enjoyed working on cars, working outdoors in his yard, and he had a passionate love for the lake, where he spent as much time as he was able. His family and friends remember him as a charismatic person who could charm a smile out of anyone, as a man who knew no stranger and who could not hold a grudge. A gentle giant, Lee James had a generous heart. He loved a good hug and being in the company of others.
Lee James is survived by his father, Lee Rowland and wife Kelley Rowland and step-brother Justin Owen; by his mother, Dianah Rowland and boyfriend Ron Baze; by his brother, Jon A. Rowland and wife Amy, and their children, Gabby, Mia and Jon Mykael; by his cousin, Dan Shonk and fiancée Alyssa Allen; by his uncle, Jim Rowland; by his cousins, Crystal Rowland and Austin Rowland; and by his cousin, Shel Wright and children, Brandon and Cassidy Wright. Lee is also survived by his fiancée, Judie Baldwin, of Albuquerque, NM. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Albert and Flo Rowland, and his cousin, Ashly Rowland. He will also be missed by many other friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 13, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. Family and close friends are invited to attend a memory sharing and Life Celebration/potluck to follow at the home of his daughter, Jordan, and her mother Kimberly Allen.
