Lee L. Dudewicz

Lee L Dudewicz passed away at home surrounded by his family, on November 18, 2024. Lee was born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 22, 1944. He graduated from St. Peter's High School and joined the US Air Force.

Lee served four years in the United States Air Force in Plattsburg, NY, where he met his wife, Barbara in 1966. After the service they moved to Saginaw where he went to work for Michigan Bell Telephone Company. He later transferred to Albuquerque (Mountain Bell). Lee worked for the Bell system for 36 years, retiring in 2003.

Lee was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish is Rio Rancho. He was in the choir at different times and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Lee liked to fish and hunt in his younger days. He loved his dogs, especially Ruby, his Corgi. He was a great cook and a grill master, especially his hams.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, two loving daughters, Amy Dudewicz and her partner, Kris and Carrie Chavez and her husband, Jason. He also has six grandchildren: Zachary Williams (Meghan), Christian Chavez (Paola), Kyle Chavez, Sydnee Chavez, Caiden Dudewicz and Raiah Dudewicz; along with three grea- grandsons, Mason, Noah and Kristiano.

He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Butch Laufman, Andy Wieczorek (Malinda) and Tom Wieczorek (Janet).

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Volarian Dudewicz and Estelle Johnson, and three sisters, Gloria, Faith and Kim.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE in Rio Rancho. A private burial will immediately follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.

Lee loved his family and was so proud of his daughters. He was loved and adored by them and will be greatly missed.
