Lawrence Merry

A long time resident of Albuquerque, aged 81, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012. He was born on September 1, 1931 in Durango, CO. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Merry; children, Carol Merry, Patrick Merry and Julie Merry, all from Austin, TX; grandchildren, Sean McDermott and wife Sarah of Ann Arbor, MI; sister, Margaret Ann Merry of Durango, CO; nephew, Lawrence J Merry (58) of Albuquerque. Larry moved his family to Albuquerque in 1959 where he joined the Carpenters Union Local 1319. In 1984 he joined the UNM Physical Plant Department - Remodeling Section. Larry was a member of AAAA balloon club since 1974. Larry and Virginia retired in 1996 so they could travel across the US. His retirement hobbies included woodcarving and a UNM Lobo supporter. He will be missed tremendously by all. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2012 at Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd, Albuquerque, NM 87109. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity.
