Lawrence Lomako passed peacefully surrounded by his family on November 6, 2017. He was born on January 15, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to parents, Theodore and Fay Lomako. Larry along with his sister, Monica, grew up in the suburb of Clawson. As an All-State football player, Larry attended and played football for Michigan State University. It was there he met the love of his life and wife, Maggie (n. Yutmeyer). Married on April 27, 1959, they have remained by each other’s side for 58 years until his passing. After graduating with a degree in business from the University of Colorado, Larry was an assistant to the Dean of Housing at both the University of Colorado and, in 1966, the University of New Mexico. In 1968, he became an Insurance Agent with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. During this time Larry earned a MBA from the University of New Mexico. After a successful career at Northwestern, Larry became the General Agent for New England Life where he remained until his retirement in 2009.
Larry and Maggie settled in Albuquerque in 1966 where they raised three children: Helen (m. Jim Sandrolini), Christina (m. Steve Kamm), and Brent (m. Dawn Wright). Along with his wife and children, Larry is also survived by six grandchildren: Justin Kamm (m. Jessica), Ryan Kamm, Ashley Kamm, Kyle Kamm (m. Olga), Larry Sandrolini, and Hannah Sandrolini. In his retirement he enjoyed playing golf, traveling with Maggie, and spoiling his grandchildren. Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed.
