Lawrence Usher Boyette

Lawrence Usher Boyette was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on July 25, 1943. He passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Lawrence is survived by his former wife, Maria Boyette; their daughter Jennifer Smith and husband Gary Smith who lovingly cared for him in illness. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Jordan (Koontz) Hatay and Alexander Koontz, and 3 great grandchildren. Lawrence was also loved by additional family & friends. Preceding Lawrence is his sister Sheila Butcher and their parents.

Lawrence graduated high school in Jacksonville, Florida and attended college at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He then began his long career as a field engineer for Hughes Aircraft Company and retired from Raytheon. Throughout his career he traveled to different places around the world including Greece, which is where he met his former wife of over 20 years and remained friends for the remainder of his life.

Lawrence loved Fernandina Beach, Little Piney Island, Little Talbot Island, luminarias at Old Town in Albuquerque during Christmas time, pineapple upside-down cake, building model airplanes, drawing, reading, and classical guitar music and lessons, which he attended weekly until 3 weeks prior to him passing.

Lawrence was a very generous man to those who he loved dearly, and he will be missed by so many. A graveside service will be located at Evergreen Cemetery, in Jacksonville, Florida.
