Just prior to sunset on Saturday, May 11, 2019, Laurie K. Miller, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away with uncommon poise and grace at the age of 65 after a brief but hard-fought battle with liver cancer.
Laurie was born on June 2, 1953 in Albuquerque, NM to Jim and Sally Harrington. After graduating from Sandia High School in 1972, she lived briefly in Charleston, SC and the Pacific Northwest before returning home to Albuquerque, marrying Charles Miller on March 17, 1979. Together they raised a son, Michael, and a daughter, Leslie, who along with Charlie survive her.
Quite literally inseparable from Charlie for 40 years, she worked as the office manager at his engineering firm for over 20 years until their retirement in 2016. With a quick wit and a sharp tongue, Laurie filled the room with her presence and brought laughter, joy and ease to everyone around her.
Laurie’s parents and two sisters, Judy and Gail Harrington, preceded her in death. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Samantha and Isabel; her sisters, Sue and Sally; dearest friends Cyd and Mike Ault and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 17, 2019, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH – Wyoming.
