Laura Jean (Desjarlais) Larence, age 83, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, known as Jean to family and friends. She is the daughter of the late Eugene and Germaine Desjarlais of Florida, formally of Burrillville, RI. She is the wife of the late Bertrand E. Larence, Sr., and the mother of sons, Bertrand Jr., Christopher and wife, Jane (Blackmar), Joseph and wife, Sarah (Crostic), John and husband, Reno Sabatini, and the late Donald Larence. She leaves six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jean was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed taking day trips and vacations where she could see the country and spend more time with family and visiting friends. She will be missed by many. She made a career in Accounts Payable, working for several companies from B.A. Baloo Jewelry, Rowe Vending, Metals Recycling and Presbyterian Healthcare Services. She lived in Pawtucket, Rhode Island before moving to New Mexico in 1992.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Westside. Interment will take place at a later date at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence, Rhode Island.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Robert Wertheim Hospice House / Presbyterian Hospice in Albuquerque, NM would be greatly appreciated.
