Laura Hernandez

Laura Nini Hernandez, 73, of Albuquerque, New Mexico went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2025. She was born in Albuquerque, NM the daughter to Rupert Marquez and Grace Cardenas, wife to David Chavez.

Laura worked at Presbyterian Hospital for over 20 years.

She loved to go shopping, to go out to eat, spending time with family and friends and her favorite vacation spot Disneyland.

Laura is preceded in death by her spouse David Chavez, parents Rupert Marquez, Grace Montes and brother Robert Marquez.

She is survived by her daughters Melissa Marrufo, Valerie Herrera and Renee Herrera Pertner (Shaun), grandchildren Stephanie, Jonathan, Brandon, Alyssa, Angelyn, Ashley, Angelique, Adriana and Ayden, great grandchildren Isaiah, Christian, Jordan and Armani, brother Joseph Marquez (Sheila), and sisters Pamela Marquez and Nikki Montes.

Our mother was the strongest person ever who fought for her family and would do anything for us. She instilled in us to never give up and make the best out of life and to always be there for each other. Her heart of gold and legacy will never be forgotten.
