Latricia Louise Hill

September 1, 1946 — February 28, 2025

Forth Worth, Texas

Latricia Louise Hill, also known as “Hunny” peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2025 in Fort Worth, TX at the age of 78. She was born on September 1, 1946 to her late parents Homer Garland and Mary Kathryn Newberry, in Wichita Falls, TX. Also preceded in death by the love of her life, Raymond Max Hill.

Known as an angel on earth, Hunny was a beacon of light, love, and unwavering faith to all who knew her. She has left an indelible mark on the lives of anyone who knew her.

Born with an undeniable love for God, Latricia was a devoted Christian, known as a prayer warrior and would always seek guidance from the Lord. Alongside her husband Max, she served with dedication in their church’s youth group “Awana", touching the hearts of countless young lives. Her unwavering strength and commitment to her faith were a testament to her love for the Lord.

Hunny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her sister, Delilah Ann McBride, her two daughters Lori and Dana, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren- all of whom she loved with unshakable devotion. She was the matriarch of her family, always serving her loved ones with compassion and a selfless heart. Latricia loved to open her home to family and friends, cooking delicious meals and providing warmth fellowship.

For over 30 years, Hunny owned and operated La Trisha’s Salon in Albuquerque, NM, where she touched the lives of many who sat in her chair. Outside of her career, she was a proud member of P.E.O., a women’s organization that she held dear, and a passionate advocate for politics, particularly through her involvement with the Tea Party group during her time in San Angelo, TX.

Hunny had a love for life’s simple pleasures, including shopping with her daughters and grandchildren and would always find an excuse to spoil her family. She found joy in watching Hallmark movies, The Golden Girls, and Reba, and never missed a chance to celebrate the holidays—especially Christmas, which she loved so much.

At her assisted living community, she was known for her social butterfly nature and her enthusiasm to join in every activity. She had many friends there who were drawn to her sweet and caring nature. She was always quick to offer love and support to those around her.

Though she faced numerous challenges throughout her life, Latricia never backed down. She faced adversity with grit and grace, and her strength and resilience were unmatched.

To know Hunny was to love Hunny. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were touched by her. Although she is now resting in the arms of her Savior, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to call her “Hunny.”

If it is in your heart to donate in lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to the organization Awana which is the program Latricia and Max served in their churches. Awana is a global, non-profit ministry that uses the Bible to teach children and youth about Jesus Christ. https://donate.awana.org
