LaRue W. Wildgoose

d. July 1, 2018

LaRue W. Wildgoose, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, died Sunday, July 1, 2018.  She is survived by her daughter, Ginny Wildgoose-Lister and husband, Dennis Lister; grandchildren,  Doug Lister and wife, Shelly, Kris Wildgoose-Lister and wife, Meghan, Brianna Wildgoose-Lister, DVM; great-grandchildren, Blaine Mitchell, Chance Lister, Mariah Lister, Ciara Wildgooose-Lister, and Aubryn Wildgoose-Lister; great-great grandchildren, Angela and Lilly; best friends and birthday buddies of 77 years, Virginia Dalesandro and Millie Rush of El Paso; and numerous well-loved furbabies.

LaRue was born in 1927 in Safford, AZ next to the race track and they always said she came in last.  She lived with her grandmother, Sarah Jane Reed, until she was 12, surrounded by her family.  LaRue moved to New Mexico in 1942 with her mother, when her mother was transferred to Albuquerque by the Forest Service.  She was raised lovingly by her mother and step-father, Clyle T. Glass, who was stationed on base during WWII.  LaRue married James Wildgoose in 1950, moved to CA, and returned to New Mexico early in 1951.  She worked for Sandia Labs and Manzano Base until she retired in 1986.  La Rue loved her family more than anything and never met a person she didn’t like.  She loved to sew, making storyteller bears, bag ladies, and lap quilts.  LaRue also loved beadwork and making and designing jewelry.  She loved all forms of music from country to classic.  LaRue was an extremely spiritual person.  She was a beloved mom, grandma, and great-grandma, known as grandma Goose; and to the babies, Grandma Rue and friends, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her Life will be held this Fall at a date to be announced.
