MAESTAS, LARRY age 64, born December 1, 1949 to Flavio and Soterita Maestas, was raised and resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on July 21, 2014. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; his father, Flavio; his mother, Soterita; and his brother, Sam. He is survived by his son, Mark and wife, Stephanie; son, Edward; grandchildren, Estevan and Mia; son, Ken Tyger; brother, Flavio; brother, Anthony; brother, David; and sister, Marie Duran and husband, John Paul. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam and was retired from the Public Service Company of New Mexico as a Lineman. He was decorated with a National Defense Service Medal, was a M14 Marksman and M16 Expert. The family would like to thank Ken Tyger, Adam and Leti Leyba, Steven and Lisa Garcia, John Paul Duran, Godson Mario Lara and the many other friends and family who cared for Larry and showed their love and support. Larry's life celebration will begin Friday, July 25, 2014, with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church at 300 Mildred Ave. NW. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, 9 a.m. at St. Therese, followed by a reception at St. Therese Gym. Cremation and burial service will take place at a later date.
