L. Roger Edwards, 76, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2017. He entered this world on May 2, 1940 in New Ulm, MN, born to William and Verna Edwards. He is survived by his wife Judy Edwards of 54 years; brother William David Edwards; children Jacqueline Walters, Theodore Edwards (wife Anicée) and Anthony Edwards (wife April); grandchildren Justin Walters (girlfriend Amber), Noah Walters, Bailey Walters, Tiu Edwards and Lia Edwards.

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Physics at the University of Minnesota and went on to achieve a PhD with distinction at Iowa State University. Upon graduation, he was employed at Sandia National Laborites in Albuquerque, NM for 33 years as a Physicist. During his career he was honored as a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff, published many technical articles and was highly regarded by many in his field. Since his childhood he had a life-long passion for aviation. He enjoyed spending time with buddies at the local hobby shops and flying fields.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and fellow aviation enthusiasts. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017, from 5:00-6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Memorial Services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community Church; 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
