Kristoffer Mallett

October 25, 1993 — February 2, 2024

Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love.  Lamentations 3:32

It is with an ache in our hearts that we announce the passing of Sgt. 1st Class Kristoffer K. Mallett (to the military) and beloved son, brother and friend to many. Kris, was killed in a single vehicle accident in Hoke County, North Carolina on February 2, 2024 and called to be home by his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Kris, 30, grew up in Tijeras, New Mexico and was the second eldest of 11 children.

“Kris was a very memorable person. He loved to make people smile and genuinely cared for others. He was thoughtful and kind and had a strength both in stature and in spirit. Kris was known for his thoughtfulness on asking "How are you doing today?" We will always remember him as a son, brother, friend, Green Beret, and Soldier – he will always have a home here in the Tribe and in the hearts of all those who loved him! He was and is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Sgt. 1st Class Mallett was serving as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant in 2nd Battalion, where he was instrumental in the success of multiple combat deployments and unit training events. He furthered his career by teaching his siblings and close friends to be rotten.

Mallett’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal (four OLC and “C” device), Army Good Conduct Medal (second award), National Defense Service Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal (one Campaign Star), Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Ribbon, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Expert Marksmanship Badge, Static Line Parachutist Badge and the Special Forces Tab along with the I'm the better than you tab and the honorary dads backpacking buddy badge.

Mallett is survived by his parents, Dwayne and Suzette Mallett, grandparents, Richard and Linda Sue Mallett, and Juaquina Sanchez, and his siblings Joshua, Cassandra, Alexander, Kendra, Stephen, Jonathan, Jesse, Leandra, Julianna and Azania Mallett.

Never forget...we do not grieve like those who have no hope.

Care for the wounded, honor the fallen, continue the mission.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.

Psalm 116:15 Kris has run the race that was set before him with endurance and is now forever with the Lord...
