Kristin Elisabeth McKeever Atencio

Kristin E. McKeever Atencio, 48, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away in Albuquerque, October 1, 2015 of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). She is survived by an adoring family: her husband, two daughters, mother Jeanne, brother Brian and wife Tracy, nephews Jake, Niko, Nate, and Luke, brother-in-law Rob and wife Donna, nieces Ariella, Isabel and Tirza, mother-in-law Barbara Atencio. She also leaves many cherished aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe McKeever and father-in-law Bob Atencio.
Kristin graduated from Eldorado High School, The University of New Mexico and Southwestern Law School. During her professional career she worked with Walz and Associates, Hatcher and Sullivan and Beall and Biehler. She had been devoting her time to being home with her husband and precious daughters, but was now thinking of resuming her professional career. Kristin was a blessing we had for too short a time. Her life was happy and filled with light and love. She passed these gifts to all around her.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE with a reception to follow at the church. Please come and join us in the celebration of Kristin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (lls.org). The family recognizes the enormous care and concern shown to Kristin and ourselves by all the physicians, nurses and support staff at Presbyterian Hospital MSU (Oncology) and CCC (Cardiac Critical Care). We will never forget their kindness. "Live life like Kristin."
