Kenneth Gregory Lovejoy
Greg Lovejoy, 66, dedicated husband, father and grandfather, retired business owner and avid reader, joined the angels in Heaven on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
Greg was born and raised in Burlington, VT where he attended Rice Catholic High School and after 40 plus years of employment with Empire Janitorial Supply, retired three years ago to Albuquerque, NM. Greg was known for his friendly and approachable personality, his love of family, fishing, his dogs and of the Boston Red Sox. You could catch him at one of his grandkids sports activities, reading, playing cribbage or enjoying long car rides with his wife of 27 years Joy Lovejoy.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Kenneth Lovejoy; and his aunt, Teresa Clark. He is survived by his loving wife, Joy; his children, Stephanie Babcock of Fairfax, VT, Sean Lovejoy and Robin Roy of San Jose, CA; Danielle Slocum of Wilmington, NC and Michael and Jennifer Riordan of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren, Kayla Nester, Luke Slocum, Averie and Joshua Riordan. He will be missed by his siblings, Brian Lovejoy of Burlington, VT, Susan and Peter Hanley of Dayton, OH; and his best friends, Jim and Janet Goss, Richard and Missy Goss and Richard and Denise Tougas. He leaves many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Greg was a devote Catholic and a parishioner of Annunciation Parish. A Mass celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017, 8:30 a.m. with a Rosary preceding at 8:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church 2621 Vermont St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Greg’s name to Animal Humane of New Mexico, 615 Virginia St SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
