After his return to Albuquerque from the military, he met his wife, Josie Ortiz Cain. They married on Friday, June 1, 1962. He devoted his career to the Albuquerque Journal where he worked for 40 plus years. Though his real passion and love was providing for and raising his family, along with raising cattle, chickens and many other animals on his small farm in Albuquerque.
