Ken Bauer, age 77, dedicated husband, father, and papa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Presbyterian Hospital on Monday, August 19, 2019. Ken continuously showed dedication to his family by working as a lifelong electrical contractor and electrical instructor. He was born on Sunday, July 5, 1942 in Long Beach, CA to James L. Bauer and Faye E. Bauer (Lawrence). On December 10, 1960, he married Linda B. Smith in Sudan, TX. Together they had two children, Deborah and Robert. Ken was a great American Patriot who loved his country and his family. As a successful electrical contractor, he owned K&L Electric for over 20 years. After retirement, he touched many students’ lives while teaching the Electrical Apprenticeship program at CNMCC. In his free time, Ken enjoyed taking care of his pond and Koi fish, going to the casino, caring for his beloved dogs over the years, spending time with his family, and above all else spending time with his wife Linda. He was always ready and willing to help his family and friends by offering long distance electrical advice and instruction. His faith and relationship with God were always important to him. He looked forward to attending Bible Study and services at Eastern Hills Baptist Church where he and his wife were members.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Bauer (Smith); his daughter, Deborah Taylor (Don); his son, Robert Bauer (Karen); his brother Victor Bauer (Susan); 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Faye Bauer and his brother, James “Sonny” Webb.
Friends may visit Wednesday, August 21, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Ken will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, following the funeral service. Family will welcome friends at their home immediately after the burial.
