Kenneth A. Williams, age 93, of Albuquerque, passed away on August 29, 2017. Ken was born on January 16, 1924, the son of Allen and Mina Williams. He grew up in Artesia, where he fell in love with his wife, Sue of 73 years. After high school, Ken served three years in the Army in World War II stationed in the Philippines. He returned to raise a family and begin a career in mechanical contracting. He enjoyed his time off with family and friends as they traveled through every state in the union in his RV. Ken loved Elephant Butte and was one of the original members of the Albuquerque Boat Club. You can still see some of the Jeeps he restored cruising the beaches. For the last 45 years Ken owned and operated Yucca RV Storage with his sons Dick and Mike. Ken was also a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 412; Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple; York Rite Masonic Lodge; Mechanical Contractors Association; American Legion Masonic Lodge; VFW in Elephant Butte and Truth or Consequences.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. Ken is survived by his wife, Sue Williams; sons, Richard (Dick) Williams and his significant other, Larita Engle, and Mike Williams and wife, Debby; grandchildren, Stacy, Shannon, and Tiffany Williams, Tammy Williams and her husband, George Reed, Marcus and Mathew Casias; and great-grandchildren, Levi and Chelsea Pence, and Jesse Reed.
Ken requested a private celebration of life that was held at Elephant Butte over this last weekend. He was a dedicated family man who instilled the value of hard work and kindness to his children and grandchildren. Don’t Worry. Be Happy.
