We are deeply saddened to share with you that Kelly King left us on July 22, 2018, due to a short but defiant battle with cancer.
Kelly was universally loved in the community for her generosity and care for needy dogs, cats, horses, etc.
She was instrumental in establishing a highly successful national engineering firm, Gordon Environmental Inc. located in Bernalillo, NM. This endeavor began in 1995 and she managed operations through 2017.
She was also working as a volunteer for Pawz-to-Care, with an intent of pursuing additional credentials in veterinary service.
Kelly is survived by her life partner, Keith Gordon; her mother, Patricia King; sister, Stacey Ames; and 10 of her 12 siblings. She will be deeply missed by her current four-legged contingent of Joey, Poppy-Lou, Peggy Sue, Beth Ann, five felines and the dozens of animals that preceded them.
Kelly (Ann) King was born in Aurora, IL on November 11, 1962 to Bob and Pat King and a loving family of 13 children.
She moved with Keith to New Mexico in 1995 to fulfill their dreams of relocating from the Chicago area and establishing a successful environmental engineering practice. They settled a home in Placitas which was built around their furry family, which continues to enjoy it to this day.
Kelly traveled extensively. She loved the white sand and sun of the Caribbean. She was an expert skier and enjoyed the black diamond runs. She was an avid gardener, loved white water rafting and braved bungie jumping in New Zealand.
Kelly cannot be replaced and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her love for family, friends (especially the furry ones) had no bounds.
In lieu of flowers, please give generously to your favorite animal support cause or charity. Kelly’s favorite choices are Tamaya Horse Rescue, Watermelon Mountain Ranch, Animal Humane of New Mexico, and Walkin N Circles Ranch.
