Kaycee Landis (Coffman) was born in Albuquerque, NM on February 13, 1977. She was raised in Albuquerque, and graduated from La Cueva High School in 1994 and from UNM in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. Subsequently, she moved to New York City where she worked for two years as a flight attendant. Upon returning to Albuquerque, Kaycee studied at the School of Ministry at Calvary Church and worked as the Director of Communications for the Home Builders Association of Central NM. In 2008 she was married to Brett Landis and soon after, they moved to Louisville, KY. There she took classes at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and their son Luke was born. In 2011 they returned to Albuquerque and their son Nate was born. Kaycee loved her family, led women’s Bible studies, taught Spanish at Oak Grove Classical Academy, and ran a real estate staging business. After a brief but severe illness and an unexpected cancer diagnosis, Jesus called her home on Friday, July 9, 2021.
In addition to her husband, Brett, and sons, Luke and Nate, she is survived by her parents, Gaylan and Elena Coffman, her brother, Chad Coffman, and many extended family members.
Above all else, Kaycee was a Christian. She lived by faith in Jesus who died and was resurrected for all who come to Him. Her hope in Christ led her to love her husband and children even above her own needs. She was wise, hospitable, generous, joyful, and creative. Kaycee was quick-witted and fun to be around. She often served others by making meals, arranging flowers, and sending notes of encouragement. She loved God’s people and served them regularly—and they have loved her by supporting her family during this painful season. Kaycee was the aroma of Christ to all those who knew her. If you don’t know Jesus, she would want you to.
