Kathy Morse, age 80, passed away on April 18, 2018, in Albuquerque, her home for over 60 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Morse. Kathy was born on October 29, 1937, in Reno, NV to Otis and Marjorie Morgans. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Kelly Sullivan and husband, Marty Sullivan; granddaughters, Sarah, Stephanie, Julia, Amanda Small and husband, Art, all of Albuquerque; son, Dan Morse and wife, Kim Morse; grandchildren, Kyle and Kaitlyn of Parker, CO; sister, Carol Sleeper Gregory and husband, Bill Gregory of Wichita, KS; and brother, Jim Morgans and wife, Diane Donaghy of Tijeras, NM; as well as many adoring nieces and nephews.
Kathy spent her early years living in various midwestern and southwestern cities. She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1960, where she met Don, her future husband, and the love of her life. For twenty-seven years, she worked at Albuquerque Public Schools as a Title I Evaluation Specialist, retiring in 1995. Throughout their 42-year marriage, Kathy and Don were avid UNM Lobo fans, and enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family. She was lovingly called Nana by her six grandchildren and was an active supporter of their academic and athletic endeavors. Her family and many close friends treasured her bright personality, sense of humor, and love of laughter.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.
Following the service, a reception will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott, 5151 Journal Center Blvd NE.
