Kathryn McDonough

Kathryn McDonough (Kay), 98, passed away in Albuquerque, NM on April 9, 2015. She was born in Gloucester, MA on March 3, 1917. Kay lived in Massachusetts until 1997, when she moved to Albuquerque, with her husband, William, who died in 1998. Kay was a loving and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an outstanding cook and homemaker. Kay loved to visit family in New England and Florida. She was always "busy helping." She walked to daily mass until she broke her hip in 2002. Kay is survived by her daughter, Pam Butler and her husband Lyn of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Natalie and Danielle and spouses, and eight great-grandchildren, Evan, Emma, Hannah, Sam, Mary, John, Max and Julian of Florida and New York. She is also survived by nephews and nieces Frank, Jay, Deb and Lana and several cousins. The family would like to thank Morayma and Zuleica and the staff of Mt. View Manor for their wonderful care for the last six years. Ambercare Hospice also provided much needed help and compassion. Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, NM. A Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 2:15 p.m. the same day at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
