Kathryn Joyce Ladd
March 26, 1941 — June 30, 2017
Kathryn "Joyce" Ladd, 76, beloved mother, was called to her eternal resting place on June 30, 2017. She entered this world on March 26, 1941 in Fort Jay, NY, born to Major John and Anna Smetana. Her father served in the U.S. Army and the family lived in many different states before finally settling in Albuquerque. Joyce graduated from Valley High School. After living in Silver City, NM and Plano, TX for many years, Joyce returned to Albuquerque where she worked at New Mexico Student Loans before retiring.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Anna Marie Smetana. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Aragon, son-in-law David Aragon and grandsons, Jacob and Alex; daughter, Sandra Dunn and grandson, Scott and granddaughter, Allyson; and son, Frank N. Ladd Jr., daughter-in-law, Collene, and grandson Austin.
Joyce enjoyed traveling to destinations in Europe as well as throughout the United States. She enjoyed working in the yard tending to her plants and flowers. Reading was a lifelong passion of hers and she enjoyed writing articles for Cycle News.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017, 5:00 pm., at FRENCH – Westside.
