Kathryn Cassady

Kathryn Lee Cassady, born on February 11, 1948, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024.

Kathy dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse, a profession that reflected her compassionate and selfless nature. Her unwavering faith was the

cornerstone of her life, and she was known as a devoted follower of Jesus and shared that faith with everyone she met - she would be thrilled if you accepted the gift of salvation through Jesus, today. She transitioned from nursing into ordained ministry working at Teen Challenge, prisons, and rehab facilities as well as many various church ministries.

She was the beloved wife of Homer Cassady Jr., with whom she shared a life filled with love and devotion. She always insisted that "Kingy" is the best husband in the world.

Soon after finishing nursing school she married Homer who was newly back from Vietnam. They lived in Florida, Washington, Ohio, Alaska, Texas, and Illinois before settling in New Mexico.

Kathy was also a loving mother to her two sons, John (Traci) and Matt (Rachel). She loved being a grandma to Emma (Jared), Carter, Bailey (Joe), Quinn, Luke, Violet, and Evan.

Kathy's memory will be cherished by all who knew her. She often quipped that she wanted, "I tried" to be written on her headstone one day. We celebrate that she is now fully healed in heaven with her Savior.

A funeral service will be held for Kathy on Monday, January 6, 2025 at noon at French Funerals - Rio Rancho on 1275 Unser Blvd. NE Rio Rancho, NM 87144. A graveside will follow at 1:30 pm at Vista Verde Cemetery on 4310 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
