Kathryn Ann Allie, 63 of Albuquerque, NM went home to be with Jesus on Friday December 17, 2021. She was born on March 28, 1958 in Orange CA. She was one of three daughters, born to Jack and Joyce Hallick. Kathy is survived by her husband, Steven Allie of Albuquerque, NM, and three children, Travis Finch and wife, Kim (Sparks, NV), Michelle Bernier and husband, Cris (Stanley, NM) and Laura Sunkes-Deimer and husband, Peter (Albuquerque, NM), and her sister April Shaw and husband Wesley (San Antonio, TX). Kathy cherished her 6 grandchildren, Austin Finch (17), Zechariah (12), Levi (11), Sarah (9), Faith (5) and Josiah (1) Bernier.
Kathy grew up in Southern CA but moved to Albuquerque NM as a young adult. She loved the Sandia mountains and called them “her mountains”. Kathy worked in the travel industry and retired from AAA of New Mexico, after 22 years of service. She will be missed by many friends and colleagues.
Those that knew and loved Kathy, saw her playful and silly side. Some of her favorite past times were playing board games with friends and family and playing with her grandchildren. She was a caring and loving mother and grandmother. Kathy had a wonderful sense of humor and laughed easily and often. She also loved to dance and sing Karaoke and was a member of the American Legion Post 49 where she and her husband Steve met in 2011.
Kathy was diagnosed with lung cancer 2 years ago and fought a courageous battle. Kathy had regularly attended the Albuquerque Believers Center since 2008. Through her entire illness, she always maintained a positive, loving relationship with God even after the cancer spread to other sites including her brain. Kathy told everyone she met about Jesus and what he meant to her. She would often say, Jesus is a gentleman. She loved the book “Jesus Calling” and would order extra copies to hand out to people to share God’s love. Hobby Lobby couldn’t keep them in stock.
Kathy outlived the doctor’s prognosis of her life expectancy. She was blessed to have very little pain and she passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus. If a successful life can be measured by how much and how deeply you’ve touched others – Kathy’s life was a life well lived. She will be missed dearly by many.
