A longtime resident of Albuquerque and Los Alamos passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the age of 98. Katheryn was born in Waldron, AR to Martin and Lela Self. She moved to Los Alamos to work at Los Alamos National Laboratory where she met Robert Fox. They were married in April of 1953. Katheryn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; stepson, William Fox, his wife, Charlyne, and their son, Billie. Katheryn is survived by her grandson, Martin (Doug) Fox and wife, Linda of Los Alamos; and great-grandson, John M.T. Fox of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. When Katheryn learned she was at Sombrillo Nursing Home in Los Alamos, she said, "It's been a long time. I'm glad I'm back." Now she is home with family and loved ones. A Celebration of her Life will take place at Katheryn's favorite place, Paul's Monterey Inn, 1000 Juan Tabo, Albuquerque, on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 12:00 noon, at the Rosario Chapel, Rosario Cemetery at Paseo De Peralta and Guadalupe in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
