Katherine Lucille (Yearout) Mahoney

Katherine Lucille Yearout Mahoney, 98, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, six days before her 99th birthday. Lucille was born Monday, November 19, 1923 in Hawthorne, CA. She was the daughter of Lamon and Ola Yearout. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1930. Lucille graduated from Albuquerque High in 1941 and attended the Regina School of Nursing. She married Sgt. James A. Mahoney in 1942. She is preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her brother; Donald E. Yearout of Vancouver, WA.; son, Lee Mahoney and his wife, Mary; daughters Patricia Sullivan, and Theresa Lorenzen and her husband Art; grandchildren Patrick Mahoney, (wife Michelle), Kate Otzenberger (husband Mike); and her great granddaughter Abigail Rose. The family wants to send a special thank you to Beehive Homes for taking great care of Lucille in her last years. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, on Friday, November 18, 2022, followed by private burial ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
