Karlene Kay (Krueger) Kohls

Karlene (Krueger) Kohls, daughter of Gilbert and Dorothy (Person) Krueger, was born September 18, 1948 in Wisconsin and went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 8, 2018 in Albuquerque, New Mexico in her home. She had attained the age of 69 years. Karlene had made Wisconsin, Indian and New Mexico her home. She was a devoted administration assistant and had worked at Ball State Federal Credit Union, American National, and the Albuquerque Gas Company. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. On June 13, 1970, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Robert K. Kohls. To this union two children were born. She loved crafting, playing Hand and Foot card games, and traditions at the holidays. She also enjoyed camping with Bob in Wisconsin during the summers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Kevin R. Kohls (2013). She is survived by her loving family; husband, Bob Kohls; daughter, Kelley McMillen (Brian); two grandchildren, Mikayla and Aiden James McMillen. She thought of Brian McMillen’s nieces and nephews as grandchildren, Pauly Gettis, Jeremy, William Coogler, Matthew Coogler, Kayleigh Tirone, Rudy Cera Jr. Kyle Cera, Derek Cera, Rheina Cera and Korena Cera.  She leaves behind her “sister” Pat Canfield from Wisconsin Rapids. A special thank you to Pat for being such as special friend through the years. She leaves behind her Lincoln High School classmates 1966. She spent her life supporting the Lincoln class of 1966 reunions and helped prepare the class reunion member books. She will be missed by her family in Wisconsin, Missouri and Texas. Special thanks to her cousin, Dianne Krueger Gross and the comfort she brought to Karlene in her final weeks. Also, a special thanks to Harmony Hospice, especially Tamar, Skitch, Chris and Brian for all the support brought to her and her family. She will be laid next to her son. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 4301 Atrisco Dr. NW Albuquerque, with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park at 924 Menaul Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87107.
