Karla Ann (Gonzales) Sandoval

On Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, our beloved Karla Gonzales Sandoval, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Almost forty-nine years earlier, in 1974, our Heavenly Father granted Karla an earthly journey of time in which she could learn to know him and serve him. Her journey is now complete and our Lord has said to Karla, "Enter now into the Joy of the Lord, thy good and faithful servant."
Karla, or "Krickett," as she was called by her Dad, is survived by her son, Hunter, a standout student at the University of New Mexico; her parents, Nick and Cleo Gonzales, who attend Evangel Christian Church, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and her sister, Monica Arellano, her only sibling; her husband, Marc Arellano, and their 3 month old son, Liam. Also, her many uncles, aunts, cousins and her friends. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Frank Gonzales and Carolina Luna; and her maternal grandparents, Abe and Esther Sanchez.
Karla's accomplishments include attending private Christian schools in Santa Fe and Albuquerque from Kindergarten through her high school graduation from Evangel Christian Academy. Upon graduation, she attended college at TVI and the University of Phoenix. She started her career in City and State Government and then transferred to the Federal Government, working for many years for the Social Security Administration.
Karla loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed having Bible studies with her Dad. She also liked to watch movies and liked fashion. She loved animals and worked to defend their rights. She was a loving, generous, passionate person who made friends easily. Karla's family is grieving at this time, but have great hope of seeing her again in Heaven.
A Celebration of Karla's life will be held at Evangel Christian Center, 4501 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00am. Arrangements are under the direction of FRENCH- Funerals and Cremations.
