Karen Krout

Karen Beth Krout passed away May 10, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born January 24, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Albuquerque since early childhood and graduated from Sandia High School. She was an only child.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Violet Bernard, her grandchild, Aaron Martinez, and her son-in-law Jesús Martinez. She was survived by her children, Kalla Martinez and Bernard Krout, and her Grandchildren, Ryan Krout, Philip Krout, Garret Martinez, and Lucas Martinez.

Karen retired from PNM as a Computer Programmer/ Project Manager in 2002. She always said she loved her work because she was constantly learning, and the job always changed. She loved cats, flowers and always had a book in her hand. Here favorites were historical romance. She was also a huge football fan, and her favorite team was the Kansas City Chiefs.

Karen spent the past year in hospice, and we would like to say thank you to everyone at Bosque Trails Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness. Special thanks to Erika, Tasha, Natalie and Jaimie, and Dr. Rankin.

Karen was the strength of our family who guided us with love. Rest in peace Mom, you will always be missed and remembered.  

A memorial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 24^th at French Funerals and Cremations, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM.
