Karen Beck

Karen passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.  She is survived by her mother Lottie Mae Beck, brothers Steven Beck, wife Candy, David Beck wife Suzette, and John Beck wife Debbie and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father Bill Beck.

Karen attended UNM and obtained her BS in Nursing in 1977 and received her RN in 1978.  She was hired as a public nurse to cover the Torrence County health office in Estancia, New Mexico. She then attended the University of Texas and obtained her Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner degree in 1985. She moved back to Albuquerque, NM to work at the Stanford Health Office and traveled where they needed her to go in New Mexico.  She then became an Obstetrics & Gynecology Certified Nurse Practitioner. In 1994 Karen received her Master of Science in Administrative Nursing.  Karen worked for the State of New Mexico for over 25 years until her retirement.
