Juvencio Medina-Moreno

July 9, 1938 — January 28, 2024

Juvencio "Mencho" Medina-Moreno, 85, beloved father, grandfather, and husband, passed away peacefully at his home comforted by his loving family on January 28, 2024 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born to Guillermo Medina and Consuelo Moreno on July 9, 1938 in Durango, Mexico. His family was his life and he made many sacrifices for them. He was sure to always provide for them, so much so, that Juvencio left Mexico for the United States in search of a better life. He was a very humble, hardworking man and made sure to take care of his wife and children even from afar. Juvencio loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and he was a symbol of strength, intelligence, wisdom, loyalty, kindness, and honesty for us all. His final days were spent with his daughter Consuelo, who was deeply committed to ensuring he received the best care. He will be remembered for his vibrant personality, sense of humor, long talks and advice, his unique way of storytelling, and his love for karate and western movies. He loved life and he loved taking long walks at Coronado mall with his daughter Lupe. His children will always remember him as an exemplary father who taught them many lessons and guided them through life, no matter the circumstance. We are forever grateful to him for the sacrifices he made to provide an amazing life for us. Life will not be the same without him, but we will always cherish the times we spent with him, memories made, and the love he gave to us.

Juvencio is preceded in death by his wife, Socorro Medina and daughter, Lupe Medina, parents, Guillermo and Consuelo Medina and brothers, Guillermo and Alonso Medina. He is survived by his daughters, Yolanda [Jose] Montoya, Angelica Medina, Consuelo Medina, and Elizabeth [Eliezer Olivas] Medina; sons, Roberto [Nancy] Medina and Guillermo Medina; grandsons, Jacob and Eli Olivas, Joseph Montoya, Julian Sanchez, Roberto Terrazas, Andres, Angel, Daniel, and Juan Carlos Medina; granddaughters, Yvette [Julian] Montoya, Veronica Tafoya, Victoria [Kendra] Trujillo, Arianna Medina, and Jasmine Medina; brothers and sisters, Evelia Medina, Lydia Medina, Elida Pulido, Irma Medina, Consuelo Gaeta, Leticia Medina, Armando Medina, Efren Medina, Alvaro Medina, Horacio Medina, and Jaime Medina.
