Justine Gardiner McNabb passed away at the age of 78 from heart disease after many years of struggling with Congestive Heart Failure. She was born and raised in NJ but she spent her last 52 years in Albuquerque, NM. She had a deep faith in Jesus Christ, and was very active at St. Paul's UMC (United Methodist Church) for over 20 years and 30 years before that at St. John's UMC. She was preceded in death by her parents (Winifred and George M. Gardiner) and a brother, Harry Gardiner. She is survived by a daughter, Colette McNabb (Rex), and a son, Robert McNabb; a brother, George W. Gardiner (Patricia); and a grandson, Zachary McNabb. She retired from Sandia National Laboratories at the end of 2008 after 20 years of service as a Division Secretary/Administrative Assistant. She taught Bible lessons to both children and adults at St. Paul's UMC, and over 20 years ago, she also taught Sunday School to Kindergarten children at St. John's UMC. She was also in the Bell Choir at both churches, and on several committees, and on the Pre-School Board at St. Paul's UMC. In the past, she was involved in Kairos Prison Ministry, and for several years she was a mentor for the ladies who lived at A Peaceful Habitation, a Christian transitional home for ladies who have recently been released from incarceration. She was on the Board of Directors of Child Evangelism Fellowship of New Mexico for several years, and also taught a Bible Club at Bellehaven and Jackson Elementary Schools. In addition, she authored two books "Poem Psalms A Lay Person's Interpretation of the Psalms" and "My Amazing Childhood". She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be missed immensely.
A Funeral Service was held at St. Paul's UMC on Monday, December 30th, 2024. A graveside service will be planned in the coming weeks and will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque. Check back for the date (once planned). In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that you make a donation to a charity or cause in Justine's memory.
