Juliet Arlene Main, known to her friends and family as Julie, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016. A long-time Texan, Julie moved to Albuquerque in 2011.
Julie is survived by her son, Charles A. Main, of Albuquerque; her mother, Beth Shilcutt Main, of Albuquerque; and her brother, Philip Todd Main and wife, Diane Lynn Main, of Niwot, Colorado. Julie was preceded in death by her father, Charles Richard Main.
Very few people knew Julie as an acquaintance. For most, she was an instant friend from the first moment, and a lasting friend for life.
Julie loved the environment, photography, and music, and never failed to use those passions to bring people together. It's easy to remember scenes from her past, like a casual concert in a meadow outside of Austin, surrounded by friends and friends to be, laughing and singing and hugging everyone in reach. I don't think she really saw any distinction between family and friends - if you were her friend you were family, too, and she loved us all fiercely.
It is easy to feel that the world is a little worse now that Julie is gone. I prefer to believe that she gave away her love and energy to us, and she is still part of us, and it is up to we who survive her to pass that love along and keep her spirit alive.
