Julian Nichols, a resident of Albuquerque for more than 60 years, passed away at his home on January 12, 2022.
Julian was born in Maben, WV on November, 9, 1930. He received his Bachelor's degree from West Virginia University and went on to obtain his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico. Julian served in the United States Air Force and retired from Kirtland AFB after 30 years of civil service. He loved being with his wife of 61 years, eating her home cooking, and sipping Irish whiskey. He also enjoyed being in the great outdoors, spending time at the cabin he built with his wife and sons in the New Mexico mountains.
He is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Nichols; their four children; and their partners: Maria Russell (Mike), Dorian Nichols (Tom), Landon Nichols III (Dorothy), and Belinda Zonno (Joe); and their five grandchildren: Angela Nichols, Evan Nichols, Logan Stephenson, Ben Stephenson, and Lara Nichols. Julian is preceded in death by his father, Landon Nichols; his mother, Izora Nichols; and his brother, Landon Nichols Jr.
The family will hold a private celebration of his life.
