Julian Dennis Lusk

February 28, 1944 — June 27, 2018

Julian Dennis Lusk Jr., age 74, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, beloved father, husband, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife Pam; his children, Brandon Ammerman and wife, Rachael, Stephanie Espinoza, Lindsay Landrum and husband, Sean, and Brittany McDonald and husband, Jeff; siblings, Mike Lusk, Tim Lusk and wife, Jerri, Robin Thomas and husband, Bill, and Roger Lusk and wife, Brandi; seven grandchildren, Bobby and Stevie Espinoza, Jonah and Levi Ammerman and J.J., Benjamin and Hunter McDonald.  Dennis was delivered into the loving arms of his parents, J.D. and Kathleen Lusk, and sister-in-law, Anna Lusk.

Dennis was born on February 28, 1944, in Clovis, New Mexico. He was the first-born child to J.D. and Kathleen. He spent his childhood years in Clovis with his four siblings. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1964.  Dennis served proudly in the Navy for four years with the Helicopter Combat Support Squadron during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971.  He went on to complete his Bachelors of Science in Business in 1972, and pursued a career with the BNSF Railroad.  Dennis’ career in the railroad took him to Chicago and Southern California. While in California, he met his loving wife, Pam, and they married in July of 1984.  Dennis became a father to Pam’s children, Brandon and Stephanie, and went on to have two daughters, Lindsay and Brittany.  Dennis completed his Master’s in Business Administration at Pepperdine University in 1989. Dennis and his family moved to Albuquerque in 1991.  He continued his career with BNSF until his retirement in 2004 after 42 years of service. To keep busy in his retirement, he worked at Lowe’s, Sears, and committed eight years at Galles Chevrolet.  Dennis moved on to work for a family friend, Shawn Stewart, until his final retirement in May 2015.

Dennis was a very hard-working man, as he always made sure his family was taken care of. As an older brother to four siblings, he was looked up to for advice and guidance. Everyone who has had the pleasure of knowing him can say he was a kind-hearted, witty, humorous and fun-loving gentleman; he truly touched so many lives. Dennis was not only an amazing father to his own children but also a father figure to many children over the 30 years his wife ran her home childcare business. He was a modest man who never desired to be the center of attention and always put others before himself.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Pastor Harry Chapman, a family friend, will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dennis’s life.
